CDD Class Report Cri-Help 7-25-09

WEEKLY CLASS REPORT
Cri-Help/July 25, 2009


Opening Comments:
Class began early with informal introductions, all but two students came ten minutes early to class; students were excited to begin.


Attendance:
There were nine students; staff member from cri-help informed us there may be another student joining the class.


INTRODUCTIONS OR OVERVIEW:
Introductions were done anew both from students and instructors, overview was done by Ethan.


1ST TOPIC COVERED:
Rules and Regulations by Ethan; First Topic was a review of the mouse done by Robert, used visual aid with a brief description of buttons and functions and ‘chalk-board’ instruction was done by Ethan.



2ND TOPIC COVERED:
Module 1 was covered in more detail with use of student handbook and ‘chalk-board’ presentation by Ethan, followed by a quick lab.


ADDITIONAL TOPICS:
First six words from discovery (motherboard, hard drive, video and audio card, general pc cables) and two short-cut keys on the keyboard.



LAB TIME:
Lab time covered a general introduction to items on the desktop, using the mouse, opening, minimizing and closing windows, standard tool bar, title bars, and application focus and application panels. Students were put into two groups, one at the Computers and the others with Ethan for review.


FINAL NOTES:
Keeping the student handbooks in the same classroom may be beneficial.
